Kalanggaman is an island off the coast of Palompon, Leyte in the Visayas region of the Philippines. It is one of the wonderful sandbars on this side of the planet. From Manila, one needs to fly to Tacloban Airport, take a van to Palompon and ride an outrigger boat to the island.
This is the only structure left standing after the onslaught of typhoon Haiyan.
Kalanggaman Island has become popular among local and foreign tourists because of its sandbar. When viewed from above, the island resembles a bird in flight.
The clear water never fails to amaze visitors.
The other “wing” / sandbar, looking detached on a high tide.
On one side of the island are sedimentary rocks.
The island has its own chapel.
The magnificent sunset.
The expenses from my Kalanggaman Island trip.
