10 Photos: Siem Reap


Ta Prohm is one of the popular temples in Siem Reap. The movie “Tomb Raider” has made the sights of trees growing from ruins as one of the iconic images of Cambodia.


Siem Reap is located in the northern part of Cambodia. It has become popular because of Angkor Wat and other temples.


The temples in Siem Reap are in ruins, but thanks to various countries and organisations… these historical and religious wonders are under construction and repair.


Neak Pean, they say, was originally built for medical purposes.


Banteay Srei, or The Lady Temple, is known for its intricate and detailed carvings. It is a small temple complex, but its wall carvings are superb.


The Baphuon. This photo of the passageway leading to the temple was taken from the top porch of the temple itself. At the other side is a giant reclining Buddha made from stones.
